I've been working in professional kitchens for the past 8 years, starting out at conference centre hotel in Bath to a michelin bib awarded gastro restaurant in Edinburgh and more recently the White Rabbit in Dalston and plenty in between.
After living in Stoke Newington working as a Housebites chef for a year and a half, myself and my fiance Hailee made the decision to look for a live/work space in the area. Space being such an expensive commidity in London we wanted to find somewhere that combined a home and a semi-professional kitchen from which to cater for outside events, a space to hire out for anything from yoga to photo shoots and of course somehwere to host regular supper clubs.
We found somewhere suitable next to the canal in Haggerston on the Kingsland road (next to the building where Nuno Mendes hosted his famous Loft Project supper club) and so Jack wharf was born at the end of May 2013.
We have held a 30th birthday party with 3 courses and 80's themed cocktails and the inaugural supper club was just 3 weeks ago which saw 32 close friends and family enjoy five courses for cost price. We consider each potential booking on an individual basis but food is definitely taking a precedent for the time being. With individually tailored private dinner parties charged from £20 to £45 p/head proving very popular.
